Bringing joy through BIG flavours, fresh (and organic when possible) ingredients and creative recipes using seasonal and locally sourced plant-based produce is what Little Ginger loves to do!

Emma began her love of food at a young age (no embarrassing photos here!) and picked up her love of creative (often crazy!) cooking from her amazing mum who could feed anyone and everyone with just a handful of ingredients and a big heap of fun.

“After Uni I studied at the Vegetarian Society catering school and worked in different food outlets and restaurants including a Deli, The Wholemeal Vegetarian Cafe, The Gate Restaurant as well a stint catering with a firm providing food for bands on tour. Whilst adventuring through Asia, Australia and New Zealand I was introduced to an exciting world of street food and new flavours.

Throughout my 15 years of teaching in Primary schools my love of food and cooking for people grew and grew; always feeding friends and family and cooking for lots of new friends through supper clubs and parties. Learning about new ingredients and exciting recipes at every opportunity, cooking in kitchens from Nepal to Mexico.

My journey has brought me to start up Little Ginger street food August 2016; my pop-up stall serves delicious Vegetarian and Vegan food at Kingston Market, London. Little Ginger offers a bespoke service for supper clubs, dinner parties, weddings and more!

Please get in touch for all enquiries and idea sharing!

Jean’s Café is a small, family run coffee shop. Owned by Sarah and Zoe James, it’s named after Sarah’s mother and Zoe’s grandmother, Jean, who left a small legacy to Sarah and Zoe that helped them embark on their dream of having a cafe.

We’ve chosen all our suppliers very carefully, with award winning cakes from the wonderful Andy and Russell at Pinnocks in Ripley, to bread and pastries from The Ginger Bread Man bakery in Walton on Thames. And we’ve handpicked the range of pasta, olive oil, biscuits, jams, chutneys, etc, we sell, including handmade biscuits from Heavenly Biscuits and honey from Sam the honey man, both of whom are Surbiton locals.

And the local aspect is something that’s incredibly important to us. Our aim wasn’t just to open a café, it was to build something for the community, where everyone feels welcome, can meet new people and come and be entertained. That’s why we hold our storytelling and story writing evenings, which you can read more about here.

Kittys Kombucha
https://kittyskombucha.co.uk/
80 Colne Road
Twickenham
TW2 6QE

Kitty’s Kombucha was founded five years ago on a lush, tropical island in the Gulf of
Thailand. It began as a rootsy beverage company which produced delicious kombucha appreciated by many amongst the island’s healing arts scene and beyond. Its ethos was fun, variety, balanced living, and celebration of life and the natural world.

Then, as now, the cue for inspiration behind the process and different brew flavours has always come from nature – using a studied mix of fruit, spices, herbs and flowers, as juice or potent tisanes (herbal teas). With that, grew the commitment never to use anything artificial to flavour or preserve the brew, and always to offer the kombucha raw, live and unpasteurised, just the way it was intended on the steppes of Central Asia all those centuries ago…

In 2016 Kitty’s Kombucha upped sticks and moved to London, the hometown of the founder, to consider the idea of starting a kombucha brewing company locally.

7,000 Jars of Beer is owned and run by daughter and father-team Susie and Keith Statham.  Susie fell in love with craft beer whilst visiting the Beermoth shop in Manchester, and soon found herself working for Partizan Brewing in Bermondsey, where she spent a couple of years managing the sales and logistics side of the brewery, whilst also working at beer festivals and the brewery taproom on weekends.

After a while she felt she needed a new challenge and Keith, now retired, encouraged her to work for herself and prompted the idea of starting a new venture together. They toyed with the idea of opening a brewery together, but with the vast amount of breweries popping up in London over the past ten years they felt there was enough good beer being brewed here already. What was really needed were more places to buy the stuff. So began the journey to open a bottle shop in their home town of Kingston upon Thames.

We care greatly about beer, and our focus is on interesting, high-quality and conscientious beers and breweries. We give these micro breweries space on the shelf and show people what a small team of brewers in some old wellies and a brew kit can do. We stock fresh, ever changing beers; from punchy IPAs and dry-hopped lagers to barrel-aged sours and rich roasty stouts.

We aim to bring the best of what’s being brewed directly to Kingston. We also dedicate a portion of the shop to artisanal wines, small batch gins and amazing cheeses!
